Marc is an active campaigner for local health services, the environment, tackling poverty and creating better job opportunities in West Wales.

Marc Tierney grew up in Carmarthenshire and recently stood for election to the constituency of Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.  Marc was elected to represent Narberth Urban as Pembrokeshire County Councillor in May 2022.

Before returning home to West Wales to take up a management role at Radio Pembrokeshire in Narberth some twenty years ago, Marc lived in Ireland and England.

Marc has experience of working in the public and third sectors in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, as well as running his own business.

Marc is keen to share his experience for the benefit of the local community. He has established a community media project, Cleddau Radio in Pembroke Dock, run a local organisation in West Carmarthenshire and South Pembrokeshire providing respite care to children from the Chernobyl nuclear zone and sits as a Trustee on the Board of the Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services.

Local dad Marc lives with his partner Sarah and three children in the heart of the constituency, where he says it is a great place to raise his family. As his children all attend local schools, he understands the importance of investment in education and skills.

Marc is an active campaigner for local health services, the environment, tackling poverty and creating better job opportunities in West Wales. He has already used his experience and skills to secure local public services, engage with the community to improve access to health services and has spoken up fearlessly on the issues that matter to local people.
